Come along and build a foundation of ceramic skills to start practising and creating your own beautiful ceramic pieces. This Bradwell-on-sea pottery course provides six sessions running through all hand-building techniques, throwing on the wheel, slab building, hand sculpting with coils and decorating and with glazes. Pottery course outline: Week 1 : Intro to clay - Pinching pots is the first technique you get your teeth into. Finishing off with glaze samples for future use. Week 2: Preparing the perfect slab for structural creations for slab creation. Week 3: Coiling - something of your chose Week 4: Throwing , I will show you how to throw on the wheel. I believe that throwing is a skill that evolves at your own pace and with lots of practice, after the demo you can practice more on the wheel if you wish so or can carry. Week 5: Glazing! You’ll be glazing all your pieces either with brush-on or pouring or dipping techniques depending on the shape and size of your pieces. At the end of these six pottery classes in Bradwell-on-sea your pottery will be fired and then collections will be ready in around 3-4 weeks. You'll leave with new knowledge, and collection of pottery inspiration for your clay journey, and even new friends who share your clay love with! If you unable to commit to a 5 week course, I also run other pottery classes covering some of content mentioned above. What you'll get All materials provided, as well as access to tools and equipment to have fun with clay. What to bring Please bring a sketchbook and any reference materials/images describing anything you wish to make. Make sure to have your nails trimmed prior to the class. Aprons will be provided but you might get messy so wear clothes you don't mind mucking up! Please bring your snacks to keep your clay energy up!
